Faith requires you to have no exit strategies. There are no “fall back” positions when you are doing as God commanded you to do.
NOTE: “In Retrospect” is a series of this online spiritual journal where I post a past entry from my “offline” spiritual journals.

“The true leader serves. Serves people. Serves their best interests, and in doing so will not always be popular, may not always impress. But because true leaders are motivated by loving concern than a desire for personal glory, they are willing to pay the price.” -Eugene B. Habecker
Jesus, in light of Your incredible example, raise up, mold and make leaders like this in Your house.
Philippians 2:5-8
[5] Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Matthew 20:25-28
[25] But Jesus called them unto Him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. [26] But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; [27] And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: [28] Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
1 John 3:16-17
[16] Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. [17] But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
John 15:12-13
[12] This is My commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. [13] Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
A prayer today. ”Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…” (Hebrews 12:2a).
Looking= aphoraō - to turn the eyes away from other things and fix them on something.
“God our Father longs for fellowship with us, and deep inside we all have the empty spot that only He can fill. After we sample the delights He has for us, we long for that intimacy with Him, as well. Enoch had such a relationship with God. As a result of Enoch’s prayer walks with God, his children for many generations were blessed. Enoch’s faith was not only an example to Methuselah (his son), but to ancient Christians and to us, too….
We must dedicate ourselves to the call of God. If we neglect our prayer time for too long, our ears will get clogged up and we won’t be able to hear God’s voice. We must discipline ourselves to walk daily with Him. He longs for that fellowship with us, and when we taste of that intimacy, we will also long for more from our Heavenly Father…”
“You Lead” by Jamie Grace. One Song At A Time.

I got waves that are tossing me, crashing all over my beliefsAnd in all sincerity Lord, I wanna be Yours
So pull me out of this mess I’m in. ‘cause I know I’m wandering
Lead my soul back home again, I’ve always been Yours
And this world may push may pull but Your love it never fails
_
CHORUS:
You lead, I’ll follow, Your hands hold my tomorrow
Your grip, Your grace, You know the way, You guide me tenderly
When You lead I’ll follow, just light the way and I’ll go
‘Cause I know what You got for me is more than I can see
So lead me on, on, on, on and on, just lead me on, on, on, and on
_
As I child I heard Your voice, but as a girl I made my choice
There is no other way for me, I’m devoted to You
You’re my peace on the heavy days, You’re the warmth of an autumn blaze
Your love carries me away, and it’s never too soon, no
And this world may push, may pull, but Your mercy never fails
_
Sometimes when I wake up, I don’t wanna rise up, out of my bed
Too many thoughts in my head, don’t wanna be who I used to be
Gonna take the back seat and let You lead
And I, need to stop, need to stop ‘cause I’m going too fast,
And I, know my God is still God, and You got my back
