My name is LaTisha. I’m a 21 college senior studying sociology and African American studies. I’m from Ypsilanti, Michigan. I really love Jesus!  And I truly love people.

“People often try to put others into their boxes. They are simple, definite, and easy to understand. To many people I snugly fits into the boxes labeled the ‘smart girl’ or the ‘church girl’ but neither begins to shows all of the diverse parts of my identity. I am passionate, goofy, spiritual, fun, compassionate, emotional, focused, determined, hopeful, vivacious, internally motivated, empathetic, and outgoing all at the same time. I love Jesus, my family, food, youth, reading, talking, justice, the color red, my church (New Grace Apostolic Temple), the Detroit Pistons, learning, the Word, shoes, and so much more. There is so much about me that would not fit presumptions or stereotypes. I am an unexplainable paradox. I am myself and I don’t try to be anyone else… There is no one exactly like me in the entire world. I am unique and probably a little weird but I Iove the person I am. I am a believer of God’s promises, a leader of the present and future, and a dreamer of things that can be. I am an individual who can never fit into a box.” -LJC
